Hope

Lost in the gloom of the dark jungle
as I walked alone & cold,
whispers, echoes, screeches
and laughs that became louder.

Serpents, Beasts & hungry Vultures,
sensed my presence weak & slow.
Flocked together here & there
announcing war to make me pray.

But, wait; that light,
it was still waiting,
unchanged, untouched as I left,
leaving to the dark, dark jungle.

I ignored, I shut; whispers, echoes, screeches,
I smiled, I answered; the laughs that became louder,
I turned, I fought; Serpents, Beasts, Vultures,
I ran, I went; to the light that was waiting.

Why don't you?

'The village is so beautiful', he said;
'It's calm, quiet & nice.'

'Why don't you come live here?' I asked
'I'd love to. But...' he said.
'He has lost his wealth.' they whispered.
